Karen Swoopes Wins IAAP Philanthropist of the Year Award

Many congratulations are in order for Peabody Library’s Karen Swoopes, who was awarded the 2021 Philanthropist of the Year Award by the International Association of Administrative Professionals (IAAP) Foundation. The Philanthropist of the Year award is the IAAP Foundation’s most prestigious award given annually to an individual who exemplifies the spirit of philanthropy through extraordinary financial and volunteer support of the administrative profession. It represents individuals who are truly leaders by example and embody everything it means to be a giver. Karen is that and more. She is a donor, serves as a Foundation Ambassador, and continuously advocates on behalf of the Foundation’s mission.

Karen is known throughout IAAP (and Vanderbilt!) for her professionalism and generosity, and her enthusiasm for the administrative profession is contagious. This award is certainly well-deserved. Congratulations, Karen!
