Sir Pelham Grenville Wodehouse, “Plum” to his friends, was a prolific English humorist and author, perhaps best known for his characters, Bertie Wooster and his valet, Jeeves. Wodehouse also regularly wrote about the inhabitants, visitors, and imposters at Blandings Castle, the antics of schoolboys at boarding school, and the always apt recollections of Angler’s Rest pub’s resident raconteur, Mr. Mulliner.
In 2018 Vanderbilt Special Collections began receiving donations from The Wodehouse Society, a collection of over 650 “agreeable humans” inspired by the author’s publications. Being fairly agreeable humans ourselves, we have embraced their Wodehousian view of life and look forward to hosting a multitude of events in the coming years to celebrate this fascinating author.
