Thanks to contributions from The Wild Bunch, Vanderbilt Television News Archive partnered with a number of Vanderbilt departments to bring retired CBS News Correspondent Morton Dean to campus for a showing of American Medevac: Battlefield Rescue, the cinematic story of Dean and cameraman Greg Cooke’s reunion with the medevac crew and the soldiers airlifted to safety from Vietnam on that day in 1971. Along with the viewing of the film, the Vanderbilt community was treated to a modern US Army field hospital exhibit set up on Library Lawn, with US Army medevac veterans there to explain the exhibit and answer questions.
